New UNDP Country Director Pays Courtesy Call on Secretary Balisacan.

Newly-appointed UNDP Country Director Titon Mitra paid a courtesy call to Economic Planning Secretary and National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director-General Arsenio M. Balisacan on March 5 at the NEDA Pasig. During the meeting, Balisacan discussed the need to review and enhance the existing guidelines for joint development efforts between the Philippine government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Also present was NEDA Deputy Director-General Rolando G. Tungpalan.

Prior to his appointment, Mitra was with the Development and Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq. He also worked for the Philippines from 2007-2012 as Head of the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and Senior Strategic Planning Adviser to the United Nations.
