In its bid to bring information about good governance closer to the public, including resources related to enforcing the Ease of Doing Business law, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) has launched its first ever Good Governance website.

“We are pleased to announce that the new Good Governance website is now online. This is to boost our efforts to monitor the status of the good governance strategies identified in the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 and its Results Matrix and the Public Investment Program,” Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia said.

Prior to the development of the website, there has been no single website that provides comprehensive updates on the outcomes of projects and programs outlined in the PDP in the governance sector.

The PDP 2017-2022, the country’s blueprint for socioeconomic development, is the first of four medium-term development plans that will lead to the accomplishment of Ambisyon Natin 2040, which is the collective long-term vision and aspirations of the Filipino people for themselves and for the country in the next 25 years.

“The information about good governance strategies and how the Philippines is faring is now readily available to the public,” Pernia said.

An initiative of the NEDA Governance Staff, the website will serve as a repository of information on government initiatives in the governance and justice sectors.

It will likewise contain brief analyses, links, and resources to various existing governance indicators such as the Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI), Open Government Partnership (OGP), and Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), to name a few.

Pernia said this will facilitate access to relevant and meaningful information for different stakeholders.
