The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) with creatives agency Dentsu Jayme Syfu bagged Silver Awards for Best in Creative Use of Data and Best in Audio Craft (Radio and Digital) at the prestigious Kidlat Awards for its anthem on the Philippines’ economic progress “Tunog ng Progreso.”
Together with the team, audio production house Loudbox Studios Inc. also won a Silver Award under the category Film: Best Audio Craft.
Kidlat Awards is an annual creative competition that celebrates and recognizes the country’s best advertising work. It is led by the 4A’s Philippines’ Creative Guild.
This year’s Kidlat Awards was held during the culminating activity of the Ad Summit Pilipinas 2018 in Subic, Zambales, on March 10.
Maggi Magic Sarap Series: Dim Dads’ by McCann Worldgroup Philippines won the KBP Ad of the Year as well as the Kidlat Grand Prix.
“Tunog ng Progreso” (link https://depdev.gov.ph/tunog-ng-progreso/ ) is a three-minute song on the Philippines’ growth narrative, in which NEDA, the premier socioeconomic planning agency of the national government, intends to support and inspire Filipinos to realize their collective goals of having a “stable, comfortable, and secure” life.
In collaboration with arrangers and composers Allan Feliciano and Top Suzara and creatives agency Dentsu Jayme Syfu, NEDA made the song by using data points of the Philippines’ gross domestic product (GDP) growth through the years.
Performed by Thyro, “Tunog ng Progreso” is in line with the Philippine Development Plan, the Philippines’ blueprint for development, which is geared towards AmBisyon Natin (Our Vision) 2040, the collective long-term vision of the Filipinos.
In January this year, NEDA also released a video for its 45th anniversary, showing NEDA personnel throughout the country dancing to the tune of “Tunog ng Progreso” (link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL1aAwmZcNk ).
“Winning this award gives us much hope that the aspirations of the Filipino people, as envisioned in AmBisyon Natin 2040 and detailed in Philippine Development Plan, will gain even more support from everyone. I thank all the artists, as well as the technical personnel, who made Tunog ng Progreso possible,” Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto M. Pernia said.
During last year’s Kidlat Awards, NEDA, also with Dentsu Jayme Syfu, won Gold for Film-Craft for AmBisyon Natin 2040.
In 2016, AmBisyon Natin 2040 videos also won the following awards in Boomerang Awards and Araw Values Awards in the digital interactive and TV/cinema categories:
