The Philippine Committee for the ASEAN Economic Community (CAEC) spearheaded the Roundtable Discussion on Trade in Services last September 18 to discuss key issues and concerns on the country’s obligations and commitments to the AEC and the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services (AFAS),
NEDA Deputy Director-General Emmanuel Esguerra (right) urged both the public and private sectors to synergize their efforts to implement more strategic and innovative approaches in addressing the constraints to liberalize the services sector.
The roundtable discussion was organized by the CAEC and chaired by the Department of Trade and Industry, in cooperation with NEDA and various government agencies, with support from the USAID- Trade Related Assistance for Development (TRADE Project) led by Dr. Cielito Habito (left).
