Economic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General Arsenio M. Balisacan (right) met with Minister Tetsuro Amano (left), Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul –General of the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines, yesterday at the NEDA Central Office, Pasig.

The two officials discussed existing partnership projects between the Philippines and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which include infrastructure development, rehabilitation efforts on Yolanda, and the creation of the Transportation Road Map.

During the meeting, Sec. Balisacan proposed the opening of Japan’s labor market for Filipinos while Minister Amano suggested the possibility of further collaboration between the two countries to maximize the potential of Mindanao’s economy. Both expressed anticipation for the Bangsamoro conference in Hiroshima slated in June this year.
