FFC meeting

 

Socioeconomic Planning Secretary and NEDA Director-General Arsenio M. Balisacan met with the officials of the Joint Foreign Chambers of the  Philippines (JFCP) last May 26 at NEDA Central Office. 

The meeting revolved around the Arangkada Philippines Third Annual Assessment in relation with the Midterm Assessment of the Philippine Development Plan. Both parties spoke about employment generation and inclusive growth strategy, liberalization of restrictions on foreign equity and professionals, manufacturing strategy including reviving light
industries, energy strategy including power supply and cost, and other business cost reforms concerning taxes, fees and regulations.

The Arangkada Philippines is a project by the JFCP  that aims to support and develop the local industries in the country that would create jobs and attract investments in various sectors.

The JFCP representatives were American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Inc. Executive Director Ebb Hinchliffe and Senior Adviser John D. Forbes; Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Vice-President John Casey; European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines President Michael Rauber and External Affairs Vice-President Henry Schumacher; Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines, Inc. Vice-President Nobuo Fujii; and Mr. Julian Payne from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines.

The NEDA Chief was joined by Deputy Director-General Rolando G. Tungpalan, Assistant Directors-General Rosemarie G. Edillon, Ruben S. Reinoso, and Kenneth V. Tanate.
